Rémy Vigne, thirty-ish, with a passion for steel, design and contemporary art, has created his own furniture, sculpture and wrought iron enterprise.
An uncompromising enthusiast of the forge, where he delights in creating his works from a material that is complex and as unpredictable as steel. Rémy Vigne derives his inspiration from applying the techniques of crumpling and folding. Then, to finish his works, he recuts and softens the angles and gives them their own special patina. Depending on the sculpture, he varnishes it or lets it rust naturally or applies an acid mixture before coating it with a traditional or car body varnish, furniture varnish or beeswax. Each sculpture is unique, hence its emotive appeal and sensuality.
